Compassion & Choices of Northern California provides information, counseling, support and advocacy to people in the final stages of their lives. We provide information about pain and other symptom management and accessing hospice care. We provide information on hastening death by refusing or withdrawing treatment or by refusing to drink and eat. For those patients who make the request, after a counseling relationship has been established, Compassion also provides information on a hastened death within the confines of California law.

Compassion & Choices of Northern California has an experienced patient support coordinator and volunteer team that includes physicians, mental health professionals, social workers, clergy, and others experienced in helping terminally ill patients, their families, and caregivers.
