UPCOMING EVENTS
We are available to come to your community to discuss end-of-life topics. This topic is especially relevant in light of the media's focus on federal legislation about advance care planning. In past meetings, we have provided panel discussions, presentations on topics ranging from legal to medical to religious perspectives, short videos, Q&A sessions, and readings by prominent authors in the field. We are happy to work with you to come up with a program best suited for your organization.
If you are interested in planning or hosting a meeting
in your area, contact the Compassion & Choices of Northern
California office at admin@compassionandchoicesnca.org or call (866) 825-8967. Feel free to contact us to find out if we have events in your area.
RECENT EVENTS
The St. Francis Yacht Club was a beautiful setting for the Passages Luncheon on November 5, 2009 attended by more than 175 people. Our special thanks to co-chairs JaMel Perkins and Merla Zellerbach, and to our emcee Ray Taliaferro. The panel, moderated by Co-Chair Stewart Florsheim, included Jordan Posamentier, Esq., Bob Brody, MD, and Carole van Aelstyn, BSN. They provided an overview of the legal, ethical, and practical issues of aid-in-dying, and answered related questions. Thanks to everyone who attended and to the Nob Hill Gazette, See's Candies, Fox Graphics, and Scotty Morris Photography for their donations. And please enjoy some photos from this wonderful event:
